Inspired by a visit to the Foshan Ancestral Temple in China, a place of Kung Fu, Lion Dances and Opera, and colour that feels like it’s telling stories.
The gold references inlay work on carved wooden doors. The curved line work nods to the temple walls. The red brushwork speaks to the red walls of the complex and a colour that runs deep through Chinese culture.
A bridge between two landscapes. The rust tones of China and the Australian outback aren’t as far apart as you’d think.
